After many weeks of hardwork, this day has finally arrived. The spectacular event of celebration on this day at Singapore Indoor stadium will be witnessed by all the members of guiding in Singapore. Both looking forward and hope time will slow down so this day won't arrive.
Reached Singapore Indoor stadium, bring my nice and fresh guides full uniform at 9am. We practised for 2 hours, then had a break. We were given a room for us to change in, rest, etc. The room was very comfortable. The moment we stepped in, we felt like we were the superstars going to Singapore indoor stadium for a grand concert because the room that was assigned to us looked exactly like those in a tv whom those idols or celebrities will be before their concert. We changed into a pair of white shoes, and into our guides uniform, being well prepared.
We were not allowed to wander around. Noise level was increasing. This shows that more people were coming, as well as it indicated that it would soon be our turn. We had last minute practises. All of our hearts were pounding fast, praying under our breath that nothing will go wrong today. We got ready ourselves with the 7m guides world flag and ready for the march in. Soon, the MCs asked everyone to raise in attention as the flag was being brought. The colour parties marched without commands given smartly. That was so cool! How many times in your life can you hold a 7m wide flag and march with everyone standing at attention? The flag was being hung horizontally in the mid air. Then we marched back to where we had arrived. Everyone heaved a sign of relief. Luckily it turned out right. About 3-4 hours later, we were to march in again and take the flag down.
After we were done, we were allowed to join our school. It's so hard to bid goodbye to them! Aww.... the fellow guides whose schools which are located so faraway.... In the end we still had to bid goodbye. Promise to keep in contact! =)
