Sec3 E-dventure Camp!

-Day 1 30 May-
Reached school feeling very excited about this camp becasue this was the first time that the whole sec3 going overseas together! We had a very bumpy rdie to malaysia. Our Campsite is at Johore, Pulai. It's a campsite with up and down slopes. Our dorms are very cramp and stuffy, poor air ventilation to prevent insects from coming in easily. There were a number of double decker beds, but were still insufficient. HUiling, wee theng and i had to shared 2 beds. The toilets are manual, without flushing system, we had to scoop out water to wash the toilets. The doors are those dented thin metal doors that cant close properly. You can also spot a number of insects in the toilet. First day, someone in my dorm saw a 10cm big spider! OH MY!
When we reached there, we settled our luggage in our assigned dorms and got ready for our outdoor cooking lunch! hahaz! The lunch was very good and delicious in fact! hahaz, but most poeple only took a few mouthful of it. hahaz.

Later we were to change into our wet attire and get ready to go to the waterfall. We had a hike in the jungle. is REAL hiking man.... Some routes are steep and really need help from friends. And i'm wearing school shoes with not much friction. argh! We were warned that there's a high possibilty that we would encounter leeches!! OH MY!! LEECHES?! The instructors still describle the way the leeches move and is very DISGUSTING. We were being separated, e1 and half of e2, half of e2 and e3. We took a shorter route there, while another group took a longer route. When we reached the waterfall, it was great! ahahz! The water was cooling. All of us jumped inside and splash one another, go under the waterfall and enjoyed the 'massage'. After playing for quite some time, we had to go back to our campsite.

We took a much longer route back with us being wet from top to bottom. The jungle track. The longer route is harder to travel, there were lots of up and down slopes. hahaz! Great thanks to huiling, weetheng and others who had helped me. I can't remember how many times slipped and almost fall. hahaz. We came across 2 large and deep cavity. We got to climb all the way down and climb up in order to get to another side. This jungle tracking borath helped us alot, hmm... kinda surprised, (nom offense)become a gentleman (not everytime). While strolling, i spotted a leech on my shoes!! Then it climbed to my socks!! OH MY!! i was praying hard that i hopefully i wont encounter one. ARGH! I faster called out my friends to spray the insect repellent on it. MY friends sprayyed lots but it didn't drop off, one of my friends(forget who is it) ask me to just pull it off, but i didnt dare, i scared later what if it stuck to my flesh. Eww.... later don;t know help me to flick it off. PHEW!! Then we continue our 'journey'. After some time, i looked down at my school shoes again, i saw leech on my shoes! OH MY..... not again...this time didn't panic as much as before, i kick it off from my shoes. PHEW! Finally, we reached the road, no more jungle tracks. Kriffith took off her shoes to check whether were there leeches there. When she took off, we got shocked, 2 big fat leeches sucking her directly. WOW, the leech went in the socks? The leeches from her feets got off after spraying insect repellent, and her feet was bleeding profusely. We reached our campsite, all of us was anxious to check our feets, we got debrief from trainers, we wash up and got ready for dinner.

WOW! First time in my life i had ever seen so many flies(can change the 'many' to 'much'). SO many that even if you said there were 100 housefly, i would believe. Dinner with houseflies flying around, trying to ask you to share with them your food... some even land on your food. Dinner was not really good.

Later, we had night activity. We had something like the blind man's trial. We had to walk through the jungle with our left hand on the person infront of u's shoulder, right hand on the rope. The jungle was very dark, even we had our eyes opened, we couldnt see anything clearly. We had to trust the person infront to pass down messages to us. There was communication and my group proceeded slowly. I think that's why there's a human jam along the way. The route was steep, I slipped a few times again. When we finally reached the assemble area where everyone had finished their trial. It was a grass patch surrounded by trees. When i looked at the sky, wow... the night is beautiful..... the starry night is still very clear in my mind. For a moment, i hope i was with my classmates, looking at them together. Although they were there too, but we were now different classes and groups. Well, quite delighted that i would be able to enjoy with my friends under a blanket of beautiful stars. We went back, had our debrief, shower and lights out.

-Day 2, 31st May-
Rise and shine! hahaz! We didnt have sink, so we brushed our teeth and wash up at under the tap where we washed our feets. We had activites like walking through and balanciing on log, walked on rope, monkey bar, jumped inside the lake and play water etc. It was fun, hahaz, lots of encouragement from team mates, cheering, singing, laughing, was great! hehe! We were wet and soak, messy, we had to change to our clean dry clothes before we head for lunch because it is a muslim canteen and we need to clean and dry when we enter for meals. Then our trainer, Kai, told us that we had to change back to our wet clothes back. ARGH? oh my, hahaz, but i didnt change it back.

After lunch, we proceeded to the swamp track as a class. When we made our way there, i saw a familiar route with ropes tieing from trees to trees. At a second look... AH?? Isn't this the route that we walked the precious for our nightwalk???? The route was very steep route, if you walk without support from friends and ropes, you could have fallen deep down to the jungle. Then we continued heading to the swamp track. Reached there had a mud fight. All of us was so dirty but we had a wide smile on our face. Of course,we enjoyed the mud fight! haha! We got some scratches from the tracks as there were sharp branches sticking out, cutting our legs, but these are nothing! No pain, no gain! hehe! Then we made our way back, we had to construct a raft that can hold at least 3 person afloat in the lake. wow! cjy, wen chong and i were fully applying the knowledge we learnt in guides and scouts. Other team mates were trying their best to help out too.. coolz! The raft turn out to be successful! =) everyone's effort! Later we proceed to another obstacles course, balancing and walking through the log. Wow, i almost walk through it, nearing the end, but my concentration was being disturbed. hahaz. Nvm!

After that, we wash up and had dinner. HUiling, wee theng and i shared a plate of fried rice, because there were no space for dinner. We took a mouthful and headed for campfire. WOW WOW WOW! I was so excited for campfire. wow! It's campfire! Going to be fun and enjoyable! hahaz! Each classes was to come out with their cheers and present to everyone. hahaz. The hosts(traniers) for the campfire were great, but the atmosphere was not so enthu and high enough and gradually become a bit boring. 3e3 come out with good cheers. hahz! Absolutely love them! ;) Went we end the campfire (abt 10.15pm), the trainers in general were quite pleased with our behaviour. gave us lights out at 12midnight instead of 11.30pm and we were allowed to tuck out our shirt, walked ard the campsite with our slippers instead of shoes! YEAH! Thats great! =) We had supper and debrief. Then we meet the 2e4'05 at 11.55pm and head to ricky's bunk to wish him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! wow! great day!

-Day 3, last day, 1st june (Ricky's birthday)-
We woke up very early, packed everything. We so fast that we were all infront of schedule. hahaz! Last day...time flies.. We had final debrief and reflection. We had our t-shirt written from friends and trainers their messages. Then we took a whole sec3, teachers, trainers pic together. ahhaz! Very valuable pic. BUs ride to kelong. The scenery was nice there too! hahaz, can see the line separating the sky and sea, with clouds changing as the wind blows. The lunch was delicious, We bought ice-cream and went back to singapore.

PS: wow wow wow! highly recommend this camp to for every sec3s.hahaz! After this camp, people will really learn to appreciate their life in singapore. ahahz! An eye opener too. hehe! =)
