china trip!

-Friday, 23rd of dec- [singapore to shanghai]

Catch the 4plus flight to Shanghai. haha! Luckily was taking singapore airline. I didnt sleep in the plane, i was playing some games, learning a bit of french and listening to some songs. haha. Our tour had 12 people. Our tour is jay. He said he wanted to keep our passport for us for safe keeping but we refused becasue passprot is an important doc and did not want our passport to be looked through by a stranger who havent gain our trust. THen in the bus, he said we had to prepare 'xiao3 fei4' for the driver and himself. Ah? i was thinking, so early wanted to collect money from us? After this, we conclued that jay is not a good tour guide. By the time we checked in, it was about 12am. We settled our luggage and i slept about 2-3am. Argh....

-Saturday, 24th of dec- [shanghai]

Trying to persuade my dad to apply auto-roaming for me so i could contact my friends in china but for some reason, my dad thought that it was unnecessary. We woke up very early, around 6 plus....Argh... not enough sleep. Then we set o ff to sightseeing at 8am. The weather was quite cold each of us wore about 3-4 layers of clothes. Natural air-con.(forget where i went, updating soon)
At night after our dinner, we went back to the hotel. That day was christmas eve, i wanted to call my friends to wish them merry christmas but my mum didnt allow because that means i'm using her phone to call. During this trip we had our meals very early. Breakfast 6.30am, Lunch will be around 11am-12pm, dinner will be 5-6pm.

-Sunday, 25th of dec- [shanghai to hangzhou]

We got ready our things and set off to hangzhou. It was a nice place. The scenery is magnificent. We strolled around the 'garden', taking pictures, enjoy the breeze and scenery. Got to know some interesting facts history from the local tour guide. My mum has a good impression of her but i dont have. Because when we were taking a group photo, we needed to hand her our digital camera to her so she could take the pic for us. BUt when i passed 2 her,trying to get her attention that i exist, she just practically ignored me. AH?? ignore me? fine... got a bad impression of her. We took a boat across the 'xi hu' (westlake) to another part of hangzhou too. he best time to go there is spring where allthe flowers will bloom. ahhaha, sounds like i'm advertising for them right?After that, we had a cup of tea because hangzhou is famous for their 'long jing cha'. We bought a few packs. Later, we headed to 'han san si'(temple) to take a look. Basically, every place we went, we got to know their history. Was quite exhausted so could not absorb much knowlegde (not enough sleep). That night, i asked my mum to lend me her phone to call. I didnt know that the speaker was so loud! OMG... my mum was beside me. Then she was giving those cheeky face, asking who am i calling... oh my....embarrass myself again.... argh!

-Monday, 26th of dec- [hangzhou to suzhou]

After an early breakfast, we set off to suzhou. We stopped by wuzhen to tour around. Then we went to some rocky garden. The scenery is nice too. haha! We just monkey around, climbing up and down the rocks. We took a boat ride and to look how people int he olden days live. Great boat rides. hehe.The lunch was great. the atmosphere is different from other restaurants that we went the past few days. Quite cosy inside, and this was my first time learning how to eat sugar cane.hehe. interesting, jsut got to chew to drink the juice.

-Tuesday, 27th of dec- [Suzhou-Nanjing]

Woke up very early.... argh..Took about 3-4 bus ride. I could not really sleep. Dunno why.. Jus cant seem to find a nice and comfortable angle to sleep. We reached
nanjing, we went to Sun yat sen's memorial. It was quite late by the time we reached there. Around 3-4plus, we explore and headed to the emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang's burial site which consist of the number of people 'working' for the him burying together with him. Very deserted place,needed to drive all the way in to see the building. Spacious place it is. In china ard december, the day is shorter so sunset is around 5plus. The whole site does not have a single lamp post! OMG... Then we had to walk through a dark stairway in order to get there. The local guide there spoke very slowly and calmly about the history when most of us were so anxious to get back as soon as possible. In order to get out.. we had to walked throught the dark stairway again and the sky had already turned dark. OH my... We carefully walked down the stairs slowly. When we boarded the bus,all of us were so gald that we were out of the Ming tomb. The local guide name, Bill, is so long winded.... my eye lids were so heavy, i'm trying so hard not to sleep infront of him when he was speaking because that would be very rude. But i lost, fell aslp unknowingly. sorry! phew! Then we headed for our delicious dinner.

-Wednesday, 28th of dec- [Nanjing to Shanghai]

Once again... we woke up very early. We toured around nanjing again. Around noon, we bid good bye to Bill and thanking him for touring ard with us. We took a long ride on bus to shanghai. We reached there quite late le, was around past 5pm. We had an overall tour guide named, jay. He suggested to go to a warehouse that sold a lots of fake branded stuff and he would bargain for us. That time we thought 'warehouse' is a spacious place something like carefour so we agreed and went there. When we got down the bus, jay ran through a dark and deserted street into a shophouse. We followed after him. When i entered the shophouse,i was shocked. We were the only customers there. It looked like a black market. I overheard for the sales asst that the police were inspecting the surrounding and they had to switch off the lights and close the shop early. i realised that this wadever warehouse is an illegal place. We looked at the goods and chose some things that we like. The price is very high even though is fake branded. My aunt bargain the price but that jay jsut stood there smiling and looking at how she bargain. huh? didnt he just said that he would bargain for us??? The sales ppl were quite unhappy and they look like barbarian ,but because the police were coming so they agreed the price and sold it to us. We faster get out of the place. Phew! Thanks to police! If there's no police, i dunno what will happen, they might force us to buy and locked us inside (ami thinking too much?) Headed for dinner after that.

-Thursday, 29th dec- [shanghai]
Free and easy, Jay suggested that whether we wanted to tour around shanghai with his guide. If we wanted, then we needa give him 300RMB per head. That was too expensivve. We shopped around and bought somethings our selve without jay guiding us. felt good, ahha! no need to wake up very early. At 10plus, we reached the airport. Clementine's mum brought us to the vip room to take a look. I was very excited to see the computers! I faster switch on and use it. haha! Great chatting with my friends again. =) We took the midnight flight back to singapore. I didnt not sleep at all even though i was very tired. Just cant find a comfortable to sleep sitting up right. Didnt want my neck to ache so i didnt sleep. End out watching, 'justlike heaven' and 'the myth' in the plane.

-friday, 30th dec- [singapore]
Reached singapore at 5.30am. Left the airport and took the taxi back home at 6am. Had a nice bath and post the first few entry of the china trip. I slept from 9plus all the way to 5plus-6plus. haha! skip lunch!
